The Countryside Montessori Parent Teacher Organization (CMPTO, or just PTO) was created to enhance and support the educational experience at Countryside Montessori School, to develop a closer connection between school and home by encouraging parental involvement, and to improve the environment at Countryside Montessori School through volunteer and financial support.

The PTO supports Countryside Montessori primarily in four ways:
  • Community building through back to school activities, PTO special events, and spirit nights
  • Community Service both internal and external
  • Fundraising through “shop and share” opportunities
  • Teacher Appreciation events and activities

There are numerous opportunities to help and participate throughout the year. Please join us at our monthly meetings, a PTO special event or spirit night, or lend a hand to help with our any of our events and projects. Our Leadership Team – Executive Board

  • Advocates for all constituencies – parents, teachers, and students
  • Creates the agenda for and leads the PTO Executive Board and school-wide PTO meetings
  • Serves as official representative of the PTO
  • Retains official records of the PTO
  • Creates a budget and manages fund allocation process in conjunction with the executive board
  • Assumes responsibility for duties as designated by the President
  • Represents the president in his/her absence or upon request
  • Oversees committees and events in coordination with the president
  • Responsible for ensuring all key leadership positions are filled
  • Records minutes of all school-wide PTO meetings
  • Maintains official records of the PTO including bylaws and historical records
  • Remains current on PTO policies
  • Maintains additional key documents including but not limited to calendar and volunteer lists
  • Serves as custodian of PTO finances
  • Collects revenue and pays authorized expenses
  • Reports financial activity every month at PTO meetings
  • Prepares year-end financial report and maintains all financial records and facilitates annual audit

Our Leadership Team – Committee Chairs

  • Organizes PTO sponsored community service projects internal and external – current programs:
  • Organizes the Penny Harvest to benefit a local charity and Annual Food Drive to benefit Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry
  • Supports the ongoing TerraCycle recycling initiative and Pop Tab collection for Ronald McDonald House
  • Participates in Community Construction, Clean up, and Green up Days at Countryside Montessori
  • Organizes fundraising that can be done with minimal time, effort, or expenditure (‘Shop and Share’)
  • Provides information for current fundraising through Target RedCard Link, VIC Card Link, Box Tops, Coke Rewards, Shutterfly, and Shoparoo
  • Communicates fundraising opportunities with parents and staff
Organizes Teacher Appreciation and Hospitality events. Teacher appreciation activities includes:

  • “Souper Bowl”
  • Teacher Appreciation week
  • Ongoing teacher appreciation and support (such as treats, notes, or cards)
  • Coordinates Back to School events including Welcome Back Party, PC picnic, Ice Cream socials
Coordinates and organizes special events:

  • Fall Festival
  • Spring Ball/Family Event
  • Field Day PC Campus
  • Field Day MC Campus
  • Organizes monthly spirit nights with community and business partners
  • Communicates Spirit Nights with parents and staff
