Children's House
Students three years old by September (and toilet trained) through six years old are eligible for this program. The children work at their own pace with special Montessori equipment and early learning materials. In this multi-age setting the children learn from one another. Areas of the curriculum include: practical living, sensorial, language arts, math, science, geography, art and music. In addition to the individual work time, each day encompasses group activities for discussions, music, games, stories, drama, poetry, and lessons in grace and courtesy. Outdoor play and nature walks are also part of th
e program.
Kindergarten
Prosperity Church Campus
Students four years ten months through six years old are eligible for this program. The children are part of the Children’s House program during the morning. The kindergarten program is designed to continue to prepare the children for the first grade. In addition, this program offers field trips and cultural enrichment to prepare the child for life. A child may be in this class one, one and a half, or two years depending on their age and readiness. These older students extend their time with their Montessori teacher to enrich their experiences in skill development and special projects.
Children’s House on the Hill (ages 3-6)
Mallard Creek Campus
Students three years old by September (and toilet trained) through six years old are eligible for this program. Located in a country home near the elementary and middle school facilities this is truly a children’s house. The students eat lunch together each day and will have ample opportunities to prepare their own snacks and lunch. As in the other children’s house classes the students work at their own pace and learn from one another. Areas of curriculum include: practical living, sensorial, language arts, math, science, geography, art and music. Each day also encompasses group activities, music, games, stories, drama, poetry, and lessons in grace and courtesy. Wonderful nature walks will be possible in one of the most beautiful parts of the county.
